What AI credits are for
AI credits power the features that remove manual work from compliance.
Mill Certificate extraction — the AI reads your incoming PDFs and pulls out grades, heats, mechanical properties, and chemical compositions. No typing, no transcription errors. Each extraction uses a small number of credits depending on cert complexity.
Cutting Plan AI — the AI optimises cut sequences against certified stock, not just any stock. It ties the cut plan to traceable material from the start. Available on Production and Scale.
Sales and order insights — pattern recognition across your order history, stock levels, and lead times. Flags risks before they become late shipments. Available on Production and Scale.
Credits are consumed when those features run. Routine inventory, cert storage, and compliance logging do not use credits.
Credit packs — buy what you need
If your team processes a high volume of certs in a given month, you can top up with a credit pack. Credit packs never expire while you are subscribed.

Your bundled credits roll into the next month if unused? No — bundled credits reset monthly. Credit pack credits never expire while subscribed. If you have both, bundled credits are consumed first.

What are AI credits?
AI credits power the features that automate compliance work. Mill Certificate extraction uses credits when the AI reads a PDF cert and pulls out grades, heats, and test results. Cutting Plan AI uses credits when it optimises cut sequences against certified stock. Sales and order insights use credits when pattern recognition runs across your order data.
Routine inventory management, cert storage, and compliance logging do not consume credits. Credits are used when the AI does active work.
Each tier includes a monthly credit allowance: Workshop includes 500, Production includes 2,500, and Scale includes 8,000. Starter does not include AI credits. You can top up at any time with a credit pack.
What happens when I run out of credits?
GoSmarter sends a soft alert when you approach your monthly credit limit. You can also set a hard stop in your account settings — once the limit is hit, AI features pause until you top up or your credits reset at the start of the next month.
Nothing runs silently and charges you unexpectedly. You are always in control. Buy a credit pack to top up immediately, or adjust your spend cap in settings.
Can I buy extra credits?
Yes. Credit packs are available at any time and never expire while you are subscribed.

What is the first-month offer?

Can I upgrade mid-month?
Yes. You can upgrade to a higher tier at any time. The cost difference is prorated for the remainder of your current billing period. Your new tier’s features and AI credits activate immediately on upgrade.
Downgrading takes effect at the start of your next billing period.
Are there long-term contracts?
No lock-in. Plans run monthly or annually. Annual plans come with a discount. Cancel at the end of any billing period — no exit fees, no retention calls.
How many users are included?
Every tier includes unlimited users at your site. There is no cap and no per-seat add-on. Operations managers, QC engineers, stock controllers, and saw operators all log in on the same subscription. Your cost stays the same whether two people use it or twenty.
Scale covers multiple sites, each with unlimited users.
Where is our data stored, and what happens if we leave?
GoSmarter runs on UK and European servers only. Your data never leaves European jurisdiction. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Your certificates, stock records, and cut plans are your data. You can export everything as CSV through the UI at any time. The API supports structured data access if your IT team needs other formats.
If you cancel, your data is available to export until the end of your billing period. After that, it is deleted in line with our retention policy. No lock-in, no data hostage situation.
Is GoSmarter right for every metals business?
GoSmarter is not right for every metals business. If you need a full multi-process MES rollout across every production line, it may not be the first tool to buy.
