# Track scrap

The Scrap Logging tool allows you to keep track of your scrap, allowing you to better optimise your production.

## Step 1: Open Scrap

Expand the Production Planning section and click on Scrap to access our Scrap Logging and Tracking features.

## Step 2: Review Existing Records

From here, you can add, view, and edit your scrap records.

## Step 3: Start a New Entry

Let's click the Add Entry button to create a new scrap log record.

## Step 4: Complete the New Record Form

From here, we can create new scrap records.

## Step 5: Save the Record

Once you've filled in the new record, hit Add Entry to save it.

## Step 6: Open Entry Actions

To the far right of the table (you may need to scroll) you'll find an actions button for each entry.

## Step 7: Manage Existing Entries

From here, you can edit your entries, view their edit history, and delete them.

## Step 8: When to Use Manual Scrap Logging

Keep in mind that manual scrap logging is intented as a quick and easy way to keep track of your scrap when you don't need provenance. If you need a more complete record, scrap should be tracked as part of your inventory management.
