Nothing changes about how updates are written; this only changes how they’re published.

Not anymore. When you create or edit a tag, you can now set it to Block, Flag, or Audit:

• Block tags actually hold up Approve on Order Quality Review and Mill Cert Review — the reviewer has to tick “Override block” and give a reason before it goes through
• Flag and Audit tags show up for awareness without getting in anyone’s way
• The severity shows as a coloured symbol wherever the tag appears — on stock, certificates, orders, and in Manage Tags

Every override gets logged, so there’s always a record of who let what through and why. Because “I’m sure it’s fine” isn’t a compliance process.

PS This is scoped to Order Quality Review and Mill Cert Review only i.e. a Block tag on an inventory item or order doesn’t stop anything elsewhere in the app yet (e.g. it won’t block reserving stock or creating an order).

Upload a price list, spec sheet, or existing config (PDF or image) and Hex reads it — using document intelligence to extract structured rows for things like Materials, Types, Stock Locations, Order Statuses, and more. No more retyping your reference data by hand.

✅ You review everything before it’s saved

Hex never writes anything to your company data on its own. Every proposal lands in a review table where you can see each suggested row, its confidence match, and edit any values inline. Accept the ones you want, uncheck the ones you don’t, then hit Apply to confirm. Nothing is saved until you approve it.

🔒 Your documents aren’t kept

Anything you upload is used only to generate the proposal and is automatically deleted within 24 hours. Hex is available now for Starter plan and above, you can configure everything with your free trial to get started quickly, and if you ever want to get Hex back, they’re a toggle from your user name.

They’re now one workspace: Customise GoSmarter, reached from a single dashboard card and sidebar entry. Switch between tabs instead of pages — everything’s still exactly where it was, just no longer scattered.

Organisations keeps its own dedicated page, since that’s where you manage your actual customers and suppliers day-to-day, rather than one-off setup.

Old bookmarks and links still work so they’ll drop you straight into the right tab.

You can now archive certificates you don’t want to see normally, either one at a time or by bulk select, and we’ll provide a prompt to regularly archive certificates that are more than a month old and don’t have an any active stock.

Additionally, if you upload something in error or no longer need it, you can delete them. Don’t worry they’re still recoverable if you accidentally delete them! You can view deleted items in the Bulk Action options.

The first version of this is having metal and standard specific type fields you can fill in by selecting a metal family, a standard, and optionally a grade.

We will be expanding this heavily over coming months based on your feedback so get testing and being opnionated!

Now you can also download a supplier pack for your orders. Like the own-branded certificate pack it uses your branding to produce the bill of materials and cover pages per item but the pages of associated material test report / mill certificate will be attached instead. We overlay the order info, item, and review status as a watermark and you can also upload your own stamp and have custom text to go with it to show that you reviewed the materials before dispatch.

From either the dropdown on the main order view or within an order’s detail page you can select Quality Review. This allows you approve and flag problems with goods so you can do Goods Out with more quality gates in place.

The date and user who did the quality review is also included the system for audit trails.

What’s new

• Inventory and mill-certificate heats now support Product Reference.

• Matching logic is heat-first: Heat-code matches always take precedence when it is completed for an inventory item. Product Reference is used when no heat match is available. This means no unexpected changes for existing data.

• Tag rules can include product-reference matches (without double-counting when both keys match the same heat).

• Product Reference is now incorporated into imports and exports of inventory, used for matching certificates, and is included where present in certificate packs.

Subscribe to a pack and it automatically flags non-conforming inventory, mill certificates, and orders, no configuration needed. Matches show up as colour-coded tags right where you already work:

• 🔴 Block: critical non-conformance

• 🟠 Flag: needs review

• 🔵 Audit: informational

Every pack shows exactly which standards and grades it covers, and you can expand any pack to see its full rule list before subscribing.

A few things to know:

• Pack rules are read-only and managed by GoSmarter, so they stay consistent but you’re always in control: unsubscribe anytime, or delete individual rules if one doesn’t apply to you.

• Use the new System Tags filter on your Inventory, Orders, and Mill Certs pages to see pack-driven findings separately from your own custom tags.

• This is a first release of our rule content so we’re continuing to refine the rules against exact standard clause text, so treat matches as a helpful first pass rather than a final compliance determination for now.

• These currently depend on our IDs for grades and material types - we’re working on making them more flexible.

• Multi-file uploads now show per-file progress, so you can see what’s completed and what’s still running
• Bulk uploads are grouped together and shown as Bulk in the mill cert summary table
• Direct one-off uploads are clearly shown separately
• If rate limits are reached, uploads stop gracefully with a partial-success message so you know what made it through
• Archive (zip file) source labelling is in place and rolling out as part of upcoming archive workflows

Who benefits: teams uploading lots of certificates, especially when handling large batches and needing better traceability.

We now support common image file formats for both manually uploading certificates or being uploaded and automatically processed by our AI. You can still get renamed downloads the way you’re used to and the data can still be incorporated into your own branded certificates so there’s no change in what you can do once you’ve got the certificate in your hands, except it’s now easier if someone’s sent you an image.

This works whether you’ve got a single heat code or multiples for a given stock line, by providing min, max, and average options for fields from the mill certificates. So for instance, you stock steel and it must always have a CEQ of more than 0.4 for a specific weld, you can create a rule for the inventory for the weld procedure that verifies the CEQ min % i.e. the smallest value for the matched heat codes, is greater than or equal to 0.4. when this condition is met, the inventory gets the tag for the weld procedure.
