Announcement: AIFightsBack Webinar Series

It's been a very tough few weeks, and the world as we know it has changed forever. Our families, our communities, businesses and the global economy are all feeling the pressure of the COVID-19 virus. As with many other startups, we feel the impact of these volatile times and we plough on as much as we can. We remain hopeful that many great innovations came out of times of crisis; that is why we have created the AIFightsBack webinar series.
AIFightsBack is an online webinar series for anyone in business looking to learn how AI can create value, and help them come back stronger than ever. We have 10 weeks of 1 hour sessions coming from experienced data practitioners who will share their knowledge on AI adoption, core automation tools, growth opportunities and the AI Quick Wins that business can easily adopt.
Now is the ideal time to train and develop new skills.

FAQs
Why AIfightsback was needed?
The AIfightsback series was created in response to a specific moment: May 2020, when the pandemic had disrupted normal business activity and traditional in-person conferences were no longer possible. Data experts with knowledge and experience to share had no platform. Businesses trying to understand how AI could help them adapt had no practical, accessible resource. AIfightsback created that platform — weekly, accessible, free.
The range of topics covered — from healthcare AI to supply chain resilience, from IoT for social distancing to data privacy — reflected the breadth of AI’s potential applications and the corresponding breadth of questions that businesses were asking. By bringing in speakers from different sectors and with different expertise, the series demonstrated that AI was not a niche technology for specialists but a practical tool with applications across the full range of business challenges that the pandemic had created.
What are the speakers and their expertise?
The AIfightsback speaker lineup included practitioners from healthcare, engineering, consulting, data science, and academia — people who were using AI to address real problems rather than theorising about future possibilities. Matthew Macdonald-Wallace’s session on IoT and social distancing addressed a problem that was brand new in May 2020. Dr. Iain Keaney’s session on data science and privacy addressed a question that the pandemic had made newly urgent — how do you use health data at scale for public good while protecting individual privacy?
Each session was recorded and made available after the live event, building a library of practical AI content that remained useful long after the immediate pandemic context had passed.
What is the legacy of AIfightsback?
AIfightsback demonstrated that it was possible to build an audience for practical, expert-led AI content without a large marketing budget or a conference infrastructure. The series ran for multiple weeks and built a regular viewership of business professionals, students, and AI practitioners who wanted substance rather than hype.
This experience informed GoSmarter’s ongoing approach to content: sharing genuine expertise, addressing real problems, and building an audience through the quality of the knowledge rather than through promotional campaigns.
